I have been playing the drums for over 20 years in various bands and musical projects.
I hold an enhanced DBS and am a member of the Musician's union.
I am also a qualified Occupational Therapist (HCPC Registered) and have been practising for over 9 years. Helping people to achieve their goals is a fundamental aspect of my day-to-day work.
I believe that my clear communication style and passion for music creates a fun and accessible entry into the world of drumming.
Lewes Drum Heads is an exciting new venture for me, starting in 2023.
I offer 1:1 private drum lessons to anyone of all ages.
For your child/teenager or for yourself!
I work from my practice room at home in Lewes, East Sussex: £32 for a 1 hour teaching session.
The first session is free for you to have a go at learning some basic beats, playing along to a song, and for me to get to know your goals, music interests and learning style.
If you choose to continue after your first session, we will jointly decide how to move forwards. With students I often use the Trinity Rock and Pop Grade books and/or 'The Art of the Drummer' by John Savage as foundations and starting points. However, I am happy to work on specific goals with students and sessions are flexible and fluid. Playing along to music is key and I try and introduce this as soon as possible.
